Every year, Circle Theatre hosts an annual High School Playwriting Project to benefit local student playwrights. We are inviting all DFW Metroplex high school teachers to enter 10-minute scripts, written by their students, for evaluation by an experienced panel of judges.
Everyone is invited to watch the reading of the top four finalist plays on
June 6th at 5:00PM on the lawn of TWU!

Things to know:
Reading takes place on the lawn at Texas Wesleyan University - In front of the library. Bring a blanket to sit on up front (chairs can go in the back of the lawn).
- Grounds open at 4:00PM for those wishing to set up early and bring a small picnic
- We ask that picnics are all set up at the latest by 4:45PM
- Presentation begins at 5:00PM - 7:00PM
- Includes award presentation for semi-finalist playwrights, reading of the 4 finalist plays, and finalist award ceremony.
Restricted Items List:
Alcohol, Tobacco products + vapes, Animals (except service animals for those with disabilities), Illegal substances, weapons (knives, guns, etc)

The lawn of Texas Wesleyan University
The reading will be accompanied by an awards ceremony and the event should last about one hour. You are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit on and invited to bring a small picnic. We ask that you arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the reading to get set up and settled. We hope to have everyone seated and food wrapped up before the reading!
This reading will be live-streamed and we will have two ASL interpreters present!

Circle Theatre is continuing to follow COVID-19 city and state protocols and may not be able to host the event or reception in-person. In this case, Circle Theatre will record and produce a digital reading of the four finalists scripts. These readings will be presented online in September 2021.
