Technical Director (Master Carpenter)

Proposal: Full-Time Hire – Technical Director (Master Carpenter) Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM (detailed during interview) (Some evening and weekend hours required during tech weeks, strikes, or for urgent building needs. Flexible hours will be arranged.) Overview: We propose hiring a full-time Technical Director (Master Carpenter) to support the increasing demands of Circle Theatre’s mainstage season and the upkeep of our venue. This hybrid role brings consistency, expertise, and leadership to all technical production efforts while ensuring our historic space is well maintained, safe, and show-ready year-round. Responsibilities: - Lead scenic construction and oversee all build processes in collaboration with scenic designers and the Production Manager. - Plan and manage safe and efficient load-ins, strikes, and technical rehearsals. - Ensure all technical elements—including lighting, sound, projections, and rigging—are integrated on time and within budget, in concert with Production Manager. - Maintain and organize shop tools, scenic materials, and technical equipment. - Supervise over-hire labor and volunteers during builds, strikes, and tech weeks. - Collaborate with designers to offer creative solutions for complex builds or technical challenges. - Communicate any concerns related to safety, scheduling, and resource needs clearly and quickly. - Serve as the primary point of contact for all on-site technical needs during the production process. - Uphold safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA/theatrical safety standards. - Project management over each art departments reorganization (i.e. develops plan and implementation of cleaning/reorganizing the technical booth, costume closet, props area) Facilities Management responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day upkeep of Circle Theatre’s building and technical infrastructure —Includes, but is not limited to, every day maintenance and/or scheduling of maintenance, changing air filters, small repairs/paint patches,etc - Coordinate routine maintenance and repairs, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural needs. - Schedule and supervise external vendors (approved by Sundance) and repair personnel as necessary. - Maintain records of maintenance work and update building checklists. - Serve as point of contact for urgent building issues or emergencies. - Assist with special facility-related projects such as renovations, space improvements, or safety upgrades, as they arise. Assistant Stage Manager

Rehearsals: May 18 – June 21, 2025 | Performance Dates: June 19 – July 12, 2025 Compensation: $100/week The Assistant Stage Manager (ASM) plays a vital role in the smooth and professional execution of Circle Theatre productions. Working closely with the Stage Manager and creative team, the ASM helps manage the rehearsal room, assist with communication across departments, and ensure backstage operations run efficiently during performances. For A Strange Loop, we are looking for ASMs with prior stage management experience. Attendance at Meetings, Rehearsals & Performances: Production Meetings: Wednesdays at 5:30 beginning Apr 23, 2025 Rehearsal Prep: May 12 - May 19th, meetings as needed with SM Rehearsals + Performances: Begin May 20, 2025, and end July 12, 2025. ASMs are required to attend all rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and performances, including previews and dress rehearsals. Performance Schedule: Thursdays at 7:30 PM, Crew call 6pm Fridays at 8:00 PM, Crew call 6:30 Saturdays at 3:00 PM & 8:00 PM, crew call 1:30 & 6:30PM (crew call subject to change) Your placement will be for a fixed period of nine weeks, ending on July 12, 2025. Box Office + Front of House

In this internship you will learn basic box office duties, house management, and customer service skills. All dates and times are subject to change based on run time of the show. Scheduling will be determined based on Circle's need and your availability. This internship pays $25/shift with up to four shifts per weekend.Responsibilities for this internship include prepping tickets for shows, working the Will Call window, assisting customers with the elevator, light cleaning duties, assisting with admin projects when needed, and ushering. Business professional attire is requested.
