Circle Theatre Announces Cast and Creative Team for The Last Five Years – Tickets On Sale Now

Circle Theatre is thrilled to announce the cast and creative team for our upcoming production of The Last Five Years by Jason Robert Brown, running August 14 – September 6, 2025.

This beloved contemporary musical—fresh off its first-ever Broadway run—tells the story of Cathy, an aspiring actress, and Jamie, a rising novelist, as they navigate the highs and lows of a five-year relationship. What makes this show so unforgettable is its innovative structure: Cathy tells her story backward from heartbreak to first dates, while Jamie tells his story forward from infatuation to unraveling. Their timelines meet only once, at their wedding, in one of musical theatre’s most poignant and memorable moments.

We are proud to welcome Leila Jalil as Cathy and Jens Jacobson as Jamie. Both performers bring extraordinary talent, heart, and emotional depth to these roles, and we can’t wait for audiences to experience their powerful performances.

Directed by Ashley H. White+, with music direction by Cody Dry and stage management by Reagan Fitzgerald*, The Last Five Years features an extraordinary creative and production team:

Leah Mazur (Scenic Design), Wyatt Niemietz (Assistant Scenic Design), Jessie Wallace (Costume Design), Aaron Johansen (Lighting Design), Claudia Jenkins Martinez (Sound Design), and Kae Styron (Technical Director).

This two-person musical features one of Jason Robert Brown’s most celebrated scores, performed live by a talented band led by music director Cody Dry (Keys), with Bethany Hardwick (Violin), Molly Wang (Cello), and Andrew Goins (Bass).
