SEEKING THE FOLLOWING

Circle Theatre is committed to being a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace. We are committed to providing an equal opportunity for all artists, whatever their gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, sexual orientation or identity, education or disability.

We respect and value diverse life experiences and will ensure that all voices are valued and heard. Please read the script and choose sides for the character who appeals to you the most. While the characters in this play are written on the gender binary and will be played as such, actors of all identities will be considered for any role.

SEEKING | CHARACTERS & MUSICIANS

**The character of Shaun has been cast**

ABIGAIL (Vocal Range: E3 to E5): Abigail is a poetic force of raw emotion determined to live intently while also battling deep-rooted, paralyzing fears. (Age: 30 - 45)

MUSICIANS/ENSEMBLE (4 Available): These tracks will be determined through the audition process. They act somewhat as a Greek chorus - storytellers; always present and participating.

TO PREPARE:

ABIGAIL: Prepare 32-Bar cut of a song from the show or in the style of the show. Be prepared to sing an additional selection if requested. Bring sheet music and your repertoire book; an accompanist will be provided. While Abigail is not required to play, you may accompany yourself on an instrument you are proficient in if interested.

In addition, please prepare the lyrics of your 32-bar cut AS A MONOLOGUE, or an alternate selection of lyrics or poem of your choosing (1 minute or less).

MUSICIANS/ENSEMBLE: Prepare 32-Bar cut of a song from the show or in the style of the show. Be prepared to sing an additional selection if requested. Please accompany yourself on an instrument you are proficient in (score calls for accordion, bass, drums, guitar, keyboard, cello, but we are open to incorporating different instruments, so we encourage you to prepare a different instrument if you are proficient in it). A piano will be available for those who want to audition for keys.

In addition, please prepare the lyrics of your 32-bar cut AS A MONOLOGUE, or an alternate selection of lyrics or poem of your choosing (1 minute or less).

PLEASE NOTE

  • We encourage actors to audition for the role they know best suits their range of talents, without feeling limited to any assumed gender, age, or appearance requirements.

  • Equity and Non-Equity Members encouraged to audition - Two Equity Contracts Available.

  • This script contains highly sensitive material including intense subject matter and language.
